NEW AND RETURNING STUDENTS WELCOME
Learn to "throw from the hump" with expert potter Jon Hook. Create a variety of forms on the wheel, add handles and embellishments, carve or stamp textures, and finish it off with glazing. Jon will lead a raku firing on the last day of class.
Students will have supervised access to the ceramics studio on Thursdays, 6:30 - 9 PM.

OPEN TO NEW AND RETURNING STUDENTS
This introductory class will expose students to a number of traditional skills and ideas that have occupied artists throughout history. Artist Lea Bult will teach basic techniques and concepts including space, volume, linear and free-hand perspective. Students work in black and white media on a variety of subjects including landscape, still life arrangements, and portraiture.
Focusing on anatomy, proportion and form, artist Lea Bult will teach the basics of portrait and figure drawing. A clothed model will pose as students draw from life using pencils, charcoal, chalk and ink.
ALL MATERIALS INCLUDED
Students who have completed at least 1 introductory drawing or painting class are eligible for this intermediate class co-taught by artists Lea Bult and David Baker. Students will learn to combine drawing and painting strategies into one unified working method. Landscape and portrait subjects will be explored systematically from black and white drawing, to color pastel drawing, to color paint.

Artist Nathan Margoni will teach the basics of acrylic painting, beginning with color-mixing exercises, a limited palette, and broken color. Students will paint on a variety of surfaces and learn to modify their paint using gel mediums as they work from the still life.

OPEN TO BEGINNING AND ADVANCED STUDENTS
Artist Lea Bult will provide instruction and lead students in outdoor painting excursions using a variety of painting media and surfaces. Students may focus on their favorite painting medium or alternate throughout the class.
