By using essential felting skills, students will explore drawing with wool fiber, creating textural surfaces and making felt balls and cords for jewelry.  The course will also include the techniques of creating seamless 3D structures that can be used for bags, hats or sculptural objects.

Discover the countless possibilities that polymer clay, a fine textured plastic modeling compound, has to offer.  Learn techniques from artist BJ Jordan as you experiment with color, pattern and texture using polymer clay.

Using acrylic paint and Gelli plates, students will explore the versatile nature of monoprinting without a press.  Artist BJ Jordan will teach students how to manipulate the paint to create effects that come to life when they are printed on paper or other surfaces.  Students will complete several projects during this course.

BRING YOUR OWN DIGITAL CAMERA
Digital cameras are incredibly powerful creative tools, but only if you know how to use them.  Photographer Andy Sawyer will introduce you to some of the hidden features of your digital camera as well as basic principles of design and composition that will help you produce great images.  On Tuesday, Andy will give an intensive presentation about photography and answer student questions.  On Thursday, students will have a chance to share their own work as Andy leads a group discussion and critique that will push all students to create better photographs.
