Learn a variety of clay techniques from three different artists! Nina Menduni will help you create a carved relief tile, Paola Gracida will teach wheelthrowing and hand-building, and Jennifer Zona will finish it all off with glazing.
*Students will have supervised access to the ceramics studio on Wednesdays, 6:30-9 pm.
Develop your throwing skills with expert potter Jon Hook. Jon will teach you how to create vessels on the wheel, add handles and embellishments, carve or stamp textures, and finish it all off with glazing.
NO CLASS JULY 3
In this introductory ceramics class, students will learn the basics of handbuilding and wheelthrowing from artist Jennifer Zona. Create functional and non-functional works of art using coil, slab, press molds and wheelthrowing techniques.

Learn to create forms out of silver metal clay, fire in place zirconia stones and traditional metals, and drill, file and solder with a torch. Artist Vicki Cook will help you develop your ideas into wearable works of art like rings and earrings. At the end of class you will be able to wear your new pieces home.

Learn the basics of needle and wet felting with Dani Davis, clay wheelthrowing with Jennifer Zona, acrylic gel-medium image transfer techniques with Lea Bult, and watercolor painting with Matt Payovich in this multi-media class for beginners. Artist Lea Bult will teach the basics of image transfer using acrylic gel medium and printed photos on a variety of surfaces in this fun 2-week crash course.
BRING YOUR OWN iPHONE OR ANDROID
iPhoneographer Karen West will share a variety of basic shooting, editing and creative apps that are easy to learn and can have a dramatic effect on your images. Karen will also share general photography tips that she has picked up over the years as a nature photographer. Please download these apps (available on both Android and iPhone) before the start of the workshop:

Local ceramics artist Becky Rotter decorates her clay forms with mason-stained porcelain slip in various free-hand designs. She uses this labor-intensive process to create colorful designs inspired by nature. In this 2-day workshop, create your own hand-built forms using slabs of clay, and learn to use stencils and colored slips to create intricate patterns of your own design. Students should have some experience working with clay.

Have you taken an introductory drawing or painting class and are ready for the next step? Artists Lea Bult and David Baker will alternate teaching this mixed media drawing and painting class that focuses on landscape, portraiture and still life. Develop a personal style as you add to your skills and knowledge about drawing and painting.
Artist Lea Bult will provide instruction and lead students in outdoor painting excursions using a variety of painting media and surfaces. Students may focus on their favorite painting medium or alternate throughout the class.

Learn about value, shape, color-mixing and other basic skills that can be applied to a variety of media with artist Lea Bult. Draw and paint directly from observation and from photographic references as you work with pencil, charcoal, acrylic and oil paint.

Learn to paint in a fluid and expressive style with artist Matt Payovich. Beginning and intermediate students will paint directly from the still life and using their own reference photographs.

Continue to develop your skills and personal style with artists Lea Bult and David Baker. Add to your arsenal of drawing and painting techniques and take inspiration from historical and contemporary art examples in brief presentations.
Take your DSLR, mirrorless or other fully adjustable camera off automatic! This in-depth and information packed class will cover camera controls, image formats, lenses, shooting modes and more, and how it all applies to practical, everyday photographic techniques. Bring your gear, a hefty notepad, and be ready to learn from photographer Tim Schroeder.
PhotoGRAMS are images made in a darkroom with light sensitive paper processed in chemicals. Photographer Richard Burd will show you how to paint with light and shadows, using everyday objects to create surreal and unique photographic prints.
